Jordan Quality

Thursday, March 31st, 2005

I pay $150 for a shoe and I expect to get a quality product.  These are the retro Jordan 13s in Flint Grey/French Blue.  Back in 1998, these were the hottest 13s, sold out in less than week but I was lucky enough to get a pair at a discount.  After 7 long years, they came out again and I figured ordering a pair on Nike.com would save a lot of hassle, I was not going to wait 5 hours in line like I did for the Black/Red 13s.  I was actually able to buy several pairs on launch day at NTSF but having ordered my size online, I knew I had my pair.  Well, two weeks after the launch, I finally get them via UPS.  Everything looks great until I start re-lacing.  WHAT THE HELL???!!! The lace holes are missing on one side of the left shoe.  The lace holes were not punched so I can’t lace them up all the way.  I call NTSF "Sorry, you need to call our 1-800 number.  Call up Nike customer service: "Sorry, we don’t do repairs".  There are no pairs left anywhere except for eBay for rape prices.  I could return them and get my money back but that’s not an option.  I can’t believe a shoe that costs $150 did not make it through quality inspection.  What a shame.

Still love the Swoosh though!

Lebron 2

The Lebron IIs are pretty damn comfortable.  I wasn’t impressed the first time I saw them but after putting a pair on, I am hooked.  I’m even wearing them twice this week.

Got the new Sole Collector magazine in the mail, this issue is basically a Jordan bible, what an awesome piece of work.
