Will You Be The One?

This Is The Twenty

Will You Be The One?

After spending a day in the Air Jordan XX, I would have to say it has immediately secured its place as one of my favorite

Jordans

of all time.  Not only does it look amazing with the patent leather, laser etching, and ankle strap, but the overall feel is fantastic.  There is also a brand new cushioning system, something they call IPS.  Independent Podular Suspension.  No longer just an air unit in the heel and forefoot, but 10 individual pods of varying density on each shoe.  It makes for a very interesting ride, pretty damn comfy.  Based on looks and feel, this shoe is definitely in the top 5 of all time.

1. Jordan XIII (my first pair and most comfortable)

2. Jordan XVI (love the cushioning)

3. Jordan XI (first patent leather

Jordan

, a classic)

4. Jordan XX (looks great, feels great)

5. Jordan XII (the Playoffs are one of the best colorways ever)

This Is The Twenty

Will You Be The One?

I think Brand Jordan should just have a direct link to my bank account.  This weekend was the release of not one but two colorways of the Air Jordan XX.  The first one announced was Stealth/Black and there was no doubt I was getting a pair.  Then came the supposedly "limited" White/Black colorway.   When I saw pictures of those, I had to have those as well.  $350 for two pairs of shoes, on the same day.  Damn.

And that’s not all.  My buddy at Niketown told me they can get 40% off of NikeiD shoes, but only for the week the XX’s dropped.  Couldn’t pass up that offer so I got a pair of 2K5’s for $90, in Cal colors of course.

Three pairs of shoes in one day, I think that’s a first for me.  Almost made it four in two days.  Went to Sheik’s and they had the Air Zoom Generation (LeBron’s first shoe) in white/red.  I have the samples of those in a size 9 but the 8.5’s would fit me better.  This was their last pair and it was marked down to $44, what a deal.  I was debating a lot, I didn’t need them but they were so cheap.  But when the guy brought out the box, it was shredded and that pretty much ended that right there.

Countdown to Hawaii

April 12th, 2005 by swooshbear

The countdown to Hawaii has begun.  7 more days until I’m chilling on the white sand beaches of Hawaii.  Swimming with sea turtles, dolphins, and all kinds colorful fish.  No more rain, hello 83 degree weather.

7 DAYS!!!!!!!!

Aloha!

Jordan Quality

March 31st, 2005 by swooshbear

I pay $150 for a shoe and I expect to get a quality product.  These are the retro Jordan 13s in Flint Grey/French Blue.  Back in 1998, these were the hottest 13s, sold out in less than week but I was lucky enough to get a pair at a discount.  After 7 long years, they came out again and I figured ordering a pair on Nike.com would save a lot of hassle, I was not going to wait 5 hours in line like I did for the Black/Red 13s.  I was actually able to buy several pairs on launch day at NTSF but having ordered my size online, I knew I had my pair.  Well, two weeks after the launch, I finally get them via UPS.  Everything looks great until I start re-lacing.  WHAT THE HELL???!!! The lace holes are missing on one side of the left shoe.  The lace holes were not punched so I can’t lace them up all the way.  I call NTSF "Sorry, you need to call our 1-800 number.  Call up Nike customer service: "Sorry, we don’t do repairs".  There are no pairs left anywhere except for eBay for rape prices.  I could return them and get my money back but that’s not an option.  I can’t believe a shoe that costs $150 did not make it through quality inspection.  What a shame.

Still love the Swoosh though!

Lebron 2

March 3rd, 2005 by swooshbear

The Lebron IIs are pretty damn comfortable.  I wasn’t impressed the first time I saw them but after putting a pair on, I am hooked.  I’m even wearing them twice this week.

Got the new Sole Collector magazine in the mail, this issue is basically a Jordan bible, what an awesome piece of work.
